Lodi

Lodi is a small town with a population of about 62,129, many families enjoy the slower pace, and relaxed mood.  Located just south of Elk Grove, the Mokelumne River flows along the edge of town. Lodi has a quaint little downtown feel where you can stroll the tree lined streets, visit the small shops, breweries, do some wine taste along the way, and partake of some great restaurants. Some of my favorite restaurants in Lodi are Dancing Fox (must try the bread pudding for desert), Pietro's Trattoria, Wine and Roses and Michael David’s Winery.  Explore the museums, kids love the World of Wonders Museum, Mickey Grove Zoo, and the county historical museum. Take in the opportunity to bird watch at the Lodi Lake Wilderness Area where several different species can be spotted. Lodi offers many water activities and fishing along the river.  Performances take place at the Hutchins Street Square Performing Arts Theater, and you can always catch a concert at one of the local wineries. Bike riders love the area for biking and several major events in biking use Lodi as one of the pass-through towns along their course.  Don't leave Lodi without checking out some of the beautiful wineries. Wine and Roses, Bergholt, Harney Lane, Klinkner Brink, Mettler, and Vieggio to mention a few.  Stop by the Lodi Wine and Visitors Center for a map. Lodi is the home of the Wine and Chocolate Festival, Winter Bird Festival, Lodi Beer Fest, School Street Wine Stroll, and many others throughout the year.
